Torra was barred from office by Catalonia’s highest court last December for failing to remove a yellow ribbon symbol from public buildings on time during the electoral campaign period in spring 2019. The final judicial decision coming from Spain's Supreme Court could remove Torra from power and, in case this happens, Catalan government partners and pro-independentism parties are negotiating a joint strategy to offer a coordinated response.
The decision of Spain’s Supreme Court is expected to be public during the morning. The representative of the Government of Catalonia to the European Union, Meritxell Serret, will hold an
online press meeting on Thursday, September 17, at 3 pm, to comment and analyse the facts which will have taken place during the morning.
If you want to follow the meeting, send an email to the press officer Meritxell Parramon (mparramonv@gencat.cat) to receive the link.
