The President of the Government of Catalonia, Artur Mas, will host the premiere screening of the documentary film The Last Match (‘L’últim partit’) on Monday, November 3rd. The retrospective, directed by Jordi Marcos and produced by Bonita Films with support from the Johan Cruyff Foundation, tells the story of how Cruyff’s signing by FC Barcelona forty years ago started a sporting, social and cultural revolution that lives on to the present day.
The screening will take place at the Auditori de Barcelona and is scheduled to begin at 17:30 CET. The event will be attended by numerous representatives from Catalan politics and civil society and by recognizable figures from the world of sports. President Mas, Johan Cruyff and director Jordi Marcos will deliver remarks before the film.
The Last Match brings together personal accounts of Cruyff’s impact on Catalonia from well-known individuals including Josep Guardiola, Vicente del Bosque, Xavi Hernández, Ferran Adrià, Xavier Sala-i-Martín, Josep Carreras, Marjorie Van der Meer, Magda Oranich, Xavier Folch and Bojan Krkic, as well as from Cruyff himself.
Following the screening, Johan Cruyff and director Jordi Marcos will hold a press conference.
